The photo I have entered into this competition is a pose of a child in the park purched up on top of statue balancing himself as if he were a bird.
The focused eyes and the manner in which he stiffened his hands and fingers to keep his balance was amazing. He climbed up about ten feet to the top of one part of the statues.
I took the photo at the Fountain in Central Park in New York City this past fall of 2009 with my Canon EOS 50D at around 12:00 PM with an fstop of f/5.6, exposure time 1/60, ISO speed of 400, and the Focal Length of 135mm.
The child seemed to be very good at balancing himself and his father was below watching with worry but the child seemed not to have a worry in the world.
There were a lot of people watching and some even were clapping as he posed for the cameras. He posed for about fifteen minutes then stood up and then just jumped down into his fathers waiting arms.
