Sports Photography

Sports or action photography is hard to get right sometimes without good gear.

You need a fast lens for that type of camera. You have to set the aperture as wide as you can. f1.8 or f2.8. Then you need to move the ISO to 800 or 1600.

This may cause unwanted noise on the Nikon D5000.

Shoot on Av or Aperture priority mode. The aim is to get the shutter speed up as high as you can to freeze the action.

I would also recommend shooting on Al servo in burst mode.

You might not get the type of action shots you want, without spending big money on camera gear.
