I got my daughter a Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z9. Every parent sees there child as gifted...right? Well the summer of 2009, my 11 year old daughter started using my digital camera and taking photos of various things.

At first there were portraits of our dog and 2 cats. Then they started to mature to portraits of my 8 year old son and 7 year old daughter. They are quite beautiful photos, some that I have hanging in my living room. She was quite inventive.

So that Christmas I decided to get her a digital camera of her own. I bought the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z9 Digital Camera from Sam's Club. My two main reasons for purchasing this particular camera were:

1. The price was right, and

2. It was pink.

I know, I know, two very shallow reasons for purchasing a digital camera. But to be honest I don't really know much about them and at the time it seemed like 2 very solid reasons.

I am so glad I went with my gut instinct. This camera has turned out to be a awesome investment for her. It's easy to use. It records very clear videos. And it's settings are easy to understand.

She can take pictures in sepia and black and white. She has a real eye for setting up nature scenarios. I have a photo she took of a bouquet of wild daisies laying on a broken, rotted wood, barb wire fence in sepia. It is beautiful and one of a kind.

It works well for portraits inside and outside, and she is able to take great close up shots. This camera has given her the freedom to explore her talent. She now aspires to grow up and be a photographer. I have zero complaints about this camera. It is exactly what she needs as an aspiring photographer.
