Bagan Sunset

by Florian E.
(Innsbruck, Austria)

Bagan Sunset

Bagan Sunset

This Picture was taken in November last year from the top of a pagoda in Bagan / Myanmar (Burma).
In former times every leader has given the instruction to build a pagoda in order to improve his Karma.

Nowadays the military government, which represses the inhabitants of Burma and prosecutes some of the peoples builds pagodas too, but in a much more "modern" way: an imitation of chinese-style buildings. I think they want to impress the chinese leaders, who support the military government because they want a strategic access to the indian ocean.

In contrast to the bad situation and the poor but very kind and helpful people, this picture shows the old and mystical history of this country, the golden ages.

Taken with an Olympus E-410 and Zuiko 40-150 f4.5-5.6 @ 79mm, f5, ISO200, 1/320, RAW. Processed in Silky Pix.
