Night Photography On The Road

I have seen so many of these kind of pictures. I would like to know how do I get these light effects on the night pics?? Awaiting for your reply..

They are car lights

These streaks are produced by car head-lights and tail-lights. If you want to take a shot like this you need a tripod.

Open the aperture fully and use the self timer when taking the shot to avoid camera shake. Also use the manual mode and set the shutter for 15secs.
