Flame On Water

Flame Birds On Flight

Flame Birds On Flight

I could never imagine that Airoli, a small place within the heart of the city of Mumbai could be such a visual treat...so magical. 4000 Flamingoes all around you, wading, flying, swimming, diving, fishing - a pink panorama - dumb struck we were!

Flame birds...a couple of hours on one fine Sunday morning and a reward of a lifetime! Shutters at the ready...click, click, click, they were all over, they were all around us, carefree of the presence of the boat. The boat went straight into the flock! Wings beating together only when you are too near! Amazing! Just amazing!

Nice photography
by: Abhay Hule

Hi, I am Abhay Hule from Parel, Mumbai. My email address is 'abhayhule@rediff.com'. Where did you shoot this photo? Is it from Mahul?
Please let me know! Do you know that you have captured two different species of flamingos together! Nice capture!
The black beak birds are lesser flamingos and with pink beak or bill are Greater ones. Beat of luck for your future!
