Female Strength In Little Rann

Female Strength In Little Rann

This picture was taken at The Little Rann of Kutch. This whole area extends northeast from the Gulf of Kutch over 5,100 sq km. It used to be an extension of the Arabian Sea, but has been closed off for centuries by silting.

The term Rann means 'Salt Marsh' and that is basically what this place is like. It is a mudflat that is inundated with visitors during the Monsoons and the rest of the time the earth is salty and cracked.

I think this picture shows just how strong and independant women can be and they can fight all adversity.

You Said It Rightly!

To Tejasbhai,

Your picture is nice and you rightly named it. I am surprised that you know about LRK and the salt producers over there as most of the ahmedabadi don't.

We work in LRK and our organisation name is Agariya Heet Rakshak Manch. It would be nice to know how you know about LRK.

I Am New To The LRK
by: Mark McKnight

I edit most of the comments that accompany the pictures and sometimes add a little bit of extra information to make the descriptions more interesting for our readers.

Tejas mentioned that he had taken the photograph of the women in Little Rann and I did some research and added a little bit of background about this place to make it more interesting for people to read and also for the search engines. ie Google, Yahoo, etc. This makes the picture easier for people to find.
