Canyon Lake

I had to get up at 05:30 and brave the freezing morning temperature to get this shot. There was literally ice everywhere.

The dock from which this photo was taken was also very icy and I almost slipped and nearly fell into the water.

Thankfully I didn't and got this shot just at the right time before the light changed.

This dock was specially made for the campers and the boat riders there and not for access by the general public. But as I knew this shot would be worth it I decided to break the rules a little bit.

I went and parked in one of the long parking spaces which was reserved for RV's and quickly ran to the dock and took the shot before the park ranger came and gave me a ticket!

In the end it was worth it. I took this landscape picture with a Canon EOS 1D and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens.
